Top Ten Characters I’d Like To Switch Places With For 24 Hours

I love all of these characters!! They are all strong, independent females who I admire! Plus, most of them have great boyfriends who I wouldn't mind kissing! haha Be warned though, there are spoilers in these, mainly in 2, 4, 5, 8, & 9

1) Hermione Granger (Harry Potter)--I love Hermione! I always liked how she's able to get Harry, Ron, and herself out of difficult situations. She has saved their lives so many times! If it weren't for her, Ron and Harry would have died in the first book! If I were to switch places with her for 24 hours, I probably wouldn't be much help to Harry & Ron, but I would definitely try. I just think it would be awesome to meet Ron & Harry and all their other friends, to see Hogwarts, and maybe take a few classes, too. It would be fun!

2) Lena Haloway (Delirium)--Lena is definitely an admirable character. She has been through so much! I cannot imagine a world without love! I would want to switch places with her after the revolution is over in Requiem.

3) Tris Prior (Divergent)--Tris is a lot braver than I am, but I think it would be interesting to see Chicago the way it is in Divergent, and to see and hang out with all the people who survive book 3. Hopefully, Tobias/Four will be one of them.

4) Katniss Everdeen (Hunger Games)--Well, I wouldn't want to be in her position when she's in the Hunger Games, Quarter Quell, or war, but it would be cool to live a day in her life after the war is over. I wouldn't want to have her nightmares, though.

5) Juliette Ferrars (Shatter Me)--I cannot imagine living life knowing that I could harm someone by just touching them. I think it would be interesting though to see what the hideout she's staying at is like & to train using the powers Juliette possesses.

6) Wanderer (The Host)--Wanderer is so brave and so selfless. It seems as though everything she does is for the greater good and for the humans she has come to love. I would love to spend a day as her & experience life as a soul. It would also be very interesting to see what the caves they all live in look like.

7) Clary Fray (The Mortal Instruments)--I love Clary. I found so many similarities between her and myself. I would love to live a day in her life. I think it would be so fun! Plus, who wouldn't want to make out with Jace?

8) Trella Sanchia (Inside Out)--Trella's life in both Inside Out & Outside In is quite exciting. It would be very cool to climb through the pipes the way she does. It would be very interesting to see the cube that she and everyone else lives in. Her world is very interesting!

9) Melanie Stryder  (The Host)--If it weren't for Melanie, Wanderer never would have gone to find Jamie & Jared, and if she hadn't then who knows what would have happened to all those humans living in those undercover caves. They could have all been caught. Anyways, I would like to live a day as Melanie after Wanderer becomes separate from her body.

10) Isabelle Lightwood (The Mortal Instruments)--I love kick-butt female characters who know how to take care of themselves & save the day when needed. Isabelle is definitely one of those characters. Not only that, but she's down right hilarious, too!

The Character Who Reminds Me Of Myself

This week's topic for Top Ten Tuesday is:

Top Ten Characters Who Remind Me Of Myself Or Someone I Know In Real Life

I feel bad about changing things a bit, but in all honesty, I cannot think of more than one character who I can relate to or who reminds me of someone else. I usually don't compare myself or other people to fictional characters. To me, that would be like comparing real people I know to other real people that I know. Fictional characters feel real to me. Know what I mean?

With that said, growing up, I could find that I could relate to Hermione Granger. Like I said, I typically don't compare myself or other people to fictional characters, but in this case, I did because I pretty much grew up with Harry Potter. Anyways, I definitely have a lot of things in common with Hermione. First of all, I have been told for many, many years that I look like Hermione. I take that as the biggest compliment because I think Emma Watson who plays Hermione is really gorgeous. Secondly, I am very studious. School always comes first. It has become a huge priority in my life. It has gotten to the point where I start stressing out if I have a lot of homework and studying to do because I want to earn the best grade possible. I also tend to do well in school too. I hate to brag, but I have never gotten a C before (for a final grade) in my life. (I still could get a C though, I have one year left of college before graduating.) Finally, growing up, I've always been known as a "goody-goody." I don't typically break the rules at school. I just never wanted to  get in trouble. To me, that's very similar to Hermione.

What character or characters can you relate to? Let me know in the comments below!

Ship Sunday--June 3, 2012

Ship Sunday is a new weekly blog hop hosted & created by Emily @ Emily Hearts Books. Each week a book or a book series will be listed & I will discuss my favorite "ship" from that book or book series. I'm not referring to your typical ship on water type of thing.  So what ship am I referring to? According to Urban Dictionary, a "ship" can be a noun or a verb.

Noun: Short for relationship, popularized in fanfiction circles.
Verb: To endorse a romantic relationship

So in other words, a ship is fictional couple in which you support in a book or series. For example, (noun) I love the Ron and Hermione ship OR (verb) I ship Ron and Hermione.

It's as easy as that. But, if you are still confused check out the Wikipedia page for "shipping (fandom)". Whoever created that page did a great job.

This week's book or book series:

 Harry Potter by JK Rowling

My favorite Potter ship:

Ron & Hermione
Ron & Hermione were the first fictional couple I ever shipped & I shipped them hard. I remember years ago before I read book 4, my brother telling me that Ron had a crush on Hermione & being completely shocked! When I read it, I never caught on to the fact that Ron did like Hermione. I didn't read in between the lines. I don't remember when I finally realized it, but suddenly I became a huge Ron & Hermione shipper. When waiting for book 6, I read Ron & Hermione fanfiction like it was my job. I read it a lot. So much, that my mom told me to stop reading them! I truly was obsessed. I remember wondering if they were going to get together in book 6 or 7, wanting them to get together in book 6, but thinking that they wouldn't get together until book 7 (which of course they didn't get together till book 7). I continued reading fan fiction & coming up with my own in my head after reading book 6 wondering when in book 7 that they would finally get together. I predicted that they would get together at Bill & Fleur's wedding, but I was wrong. I remember getting a little upset when they didn't get together right away while reading the book. Chapter after chapter after chapter. Then, finally, on page 625, they kissed! I was so happy! I started doing cartwheels around my living room. Yes, I was that happy.

I still like Ron & Hermione together. I think they are cute. I used to say that they are the best fictional couple ever. However, now, after reading several other books, it would be hard for me to pick one ship/couple that I prefer over the other.

What's your favorite ship from Harry Potter? Feel free to comment or if you have a blog & decide to participate, please link back to Emily Hearts Books & post a link to your blog post in the comments! Thanks!
