Top Ten Books On My Fall 2013 TBR List

1. Allegiant by Veronica Roth
I pre-ordered this book months ago. Seriously, if this book came out right now, I'd stop reading the book I'm reading now & read this. I've been waiting for this book ever since I finished Insurgent in May 2012. So you can imagine how hard the wait has been. Give me! Give me!

2. Champion by Marie Lu
Another book that I cannot wait for. I already have a hold on it at my library. I'm glad I don't have to wait till 2014 for this book.

3. Forgive My Fins by Tera Lynn Childs
I love Mermaids. I haven't read any Mermaid fantasy novels before & I'm looking forward to reading this series.

4. Under the Never Sky by Veronica Rossi
I've been meaning to read this series for the longest time!! It's about time that I did!

5. Gone by Michael Grant
Everytime I see one of these books at the library I work at I freak out a little because there are so many of them and they're so massive. I typically read books that are 300-500 pages long, but these books look longer than that! I could be wrong though.

6. The Dream Thieves by Maggie Stiefvater
I have a hold on this book at my library. I have enjoyed every book of Maggie's that I have read so I don't think this one will be any different.

7. Wither by Lauren DeStefano
I bought this book over a year ago at half price books and I still haven't read it yet. Now, I think all the books have already been released. That's the best part about forgetting to read a book, the rest of the series will already be available by the time I remember to read it!

8. If I Stay by Gayle Forman
This book is becoming a movie. Normally I like to read books first before I see the movie. That doesn't always happen (many times I don't even know the movie is based off a book until later), but I'm going to try and read this one first before seeing the movie.

9. Ender's Game by  Orson Scott Card
Another book that I want to read before the movie is released. The movie looks fantastic so I'm sure the book is even better!!

10. The Beginning of Everything by Robyn Scheider
Harper Collin's advertisements on Facebook definitely work on me. Their advertisement said that this series is like John Green's The Fault In Our Stars. I LOVED that book, so it caught my attention right away. I read the summary of this book and knew I had to read it. I wouldn't be surprised if this book became just as popular as John Green's books. I have a hold on this book at my library as well.

What's on your list? Let me know!

Top Ten Books I Would Love To See As A Movie (set in a perfect world...in which movies don't butcher the books we love.)

Please note: There is no order to this list. I'm just adding them as I think of them.

1. The Divergent Trilogy by Veronica Roth--I'm not complaining, but to me, Four will always be a skinny, lanky 18 year old, not a bulky 28 year old. But I'm sure Theo will do just fine!!!

2. The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare (Please note: I loved the first one. Read my review HERE. I just want the rest of them to be just as good, if not better!!)

3. The Across the Universe Trilogy by Beth Revis

4. The Shatter Me Trilogy by Tahereh Mafi--With a hot actor as Warner that I can stare at the whole time. (This really does need to be a movie, like seriously.)

5. The Hush, Hush Saga by Becca Fitzpatrick--Without people comparing it to Twilight

6. The Selection Trilogy by Kiera Cass--With a hot actor as Maxon and a girl that looks like the model on the cover as America.

7. The Legend Trilogy by Marie Lu

8. The Insider Duology by Maria V. Snyder

9. The Delirium Trilogy by Lauren Oliver--With a different ending to Requiem and without a cranky/rude Alex

10. The Infernal Devices by Cassandra Clare

Top Ten Tuesday: Top 10 Words/Topics That Make Me NOT Pick Up a Book

Top 10 Tuesday (#15)

Top 10 Tuesday is a blog hop hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. They post a Top 10 topic & other blogs participate & link their blog post to their website. It is a way to get to know your follow bloggers & get more traffic on your own blog! If you have a book blog, you can definitely participate! Top 10 Words/Topics That Make Me NOT Pick Up a Book

This is actually a really interesting topic. It's not something I would ordinarily think of considering that I'm pretty open minded to reading most books. When going through some other people's lists it actually annoyed me that people won't read books just because vampires or some other mythological creature is in it. I used to be like that. I told myself I would never read a vampire book again because of Twilight. I would have missed out on a lot of great books because of that. Luckily, one of my former co-workers was able to change my mind. A book can still be great with vampires in it. The plot, characters, etc can still be amazing with the additional fact that the characters just so happen to be vampires.

Anyways, my list is pretty short.

1. Knowing in advance that the book is extremely inappropriate-That's definitely one for me. I ultimately refuse to read anything with extreme cussing in it or a lot of sex, especially ones with graphic details. One such example is those Fifty Shades books. It truly disgusts me how popular those books are and I will never ever read those books no matter what.

2. Horror-Sorry, I'm not into scary stuff. I don't like getting creeped out and terrified out of my wits.

3. Lots of Murder-Now, I'm not referring to books like Divergent & Hunger Games where characters are killed off because of war or whatever, but I'm referring to books where the main character kills other characters endlessly for no known reason or not a good enough reason.

4. This isn't really a word/topic, but sometimes when a summary/description doesn't get my attention, I won't read it. The book could be amazing, but I wouldn't know because the summary was too vague or bland. A lot of the time though, I may still read a book with a vague or bland description, but only because it seems to be a very popular book that's very well liked. One book being The Fault In Our Stars. The description on Goodreads is very vague, but I read it anyway because I heard great things about it, and I'm so glad I did.

5. Again, this isn't really a word/topic. Sometimes I won't read a book because I didn't like the first few books in the series or they just didn't capture my attention the way I thought they would.

That's really all I can think of. I'm actually pretty much open minded to reading most things.

Yes, 6 of these are Cassandra Clare's novels, but can you blame me? Her work is brilliant! You especially can't blame me since 44% of the books I've read during the time span of this blog are written by her.

This Week's Top Ten Tuesday Topic is:

Top Ten Book Romances That You Think Would Make It In The Real World (outside the book)

I'm guessing this topic is referring to the top ten couples that would make it in the real world, outside of the world in the book. i.e. Jace & Clary making it in the real world outside of the world of shadowhunters, faeries, werewolves, vampires, etc. or Ron & Hermione making it in the real world outside of the magical world of witches and wizards. So here are the top couples I think would make it in the world if they were real people:

1. Jace & Clary--Mortal Instruments
2. Ron & Hermione--Harry Potter
3. Lena & Alex--Delirium
4. Ian & Wanderer--The Host
5. Tobias & Tris--Divergent
6. Adam & Juliette--Shatter Me
7. Jared & Melanie--The Host
8. Liz & Owen--Elsewhere
9. Will & Ronnie--The Last Song
10. Josh & Emma--The Future of Us

Top Ten Posts On Your Blog That Would Give The BEST Picture of YOU

What an interesting and unique topic! Really makes you think which posts are the best! I've only had my blog since March (Wow, it's been just over five months since I posted my first post.), so I don't have many to pick from. Instead of 10, I picked 5. I thought that was a reasonable amount.

This post suits me so incredibly well. I hate spoilers. When I wrote this I thought I had just read a spoiler (turns out I hadn't) and was very upset. I wrote this to properly explain how to avoid, post, and react to spoilers.

2. You Know You're Reading a Great Book When...
This post was fun to write. It consists of lots of little things that may suggest that you're reading a good book. Lots of those listed I have experienced myself.

3. Fun Hunger Games Questionnaire
One of my book obsessions within these past several months or so was on the Hunger Games. I created this questionnaire so I could discuss my opinions on the series. I'm posting it here so you all can read how I feel towards this amazing series. Please note: this survey was completed a year ago in August 2011, but I didn't post it on here till March. And of course, my opinions may have changed since then.

4. Fun Divergent Questionnaire
Another book obsession that I've had recently was on the Divergent Trilogy. I created another questionnaire for this series for the same reasons why I made one for the Hunger Games series.

5. Word of Mouth
I truly love spreading the word about my favorite books. In this post I basically talk about my love for doing so.

Edit: Just found another great post that I wrote in which I discuss my hatred of love triangles. It's actually the first post I ever wrote on my blog. Check it out here

Top Ten Characters I’d Like To Switch Places With For 24 Hours

Top 10 Tuesday (#9)

This week's Top Ten Tuesday is:

Top Ten Characters I’d Like To Switch Places With For 24 Hours

I love all of these characters!! They are all strong, independent females who I admire! Plus, most of them have great boyfriends who I wouldn't mind kissing! haha Be warned though, there are spoilers in these, mainly in 2, 4, 5, 8, & 9

1) Hermione Granger (Harry Potter)--I love Hermione! I always liked how she's able to get Harry, Ron, and herself out of difficult situations. She has saved their lives so many times! If it weren't for her, Ron and Harry would have died in the first book! If I were to switch places with her for 24 hours, I probably wouldn't be much help to Harry & Ron, but I would definitely try. I just think it would be awesome to meet Ron & Harry and all their other friends, to see Hogwarts, and maybe take a few classes, too. It would be fun!

2) Lena Haloway (Delirium)--Lena is definitely an admirable character. She has been through so much! I cannot imagine a world without love! I would want to switch places with her after the revolution is over in Requiem.

3) Tris Prior (Divergent)--Tris is a lot braver than I am, but I think it would be interesting to see Chicago the way it is in Divergent, and to see and hang out with all the people who survive book 3. Hopefully, Tobias/Four will be one of them.

4) Katniss Everdeen (Hunger Games)--Well, I wouldn't want to be in her position when she's in the Hunger Games, Quarter Quell, or war, but it would be cool to live a day in her life after the war is over. I wouldn't want to have her nightmares, though.

5) Juliette Ferrars (Shatter Me)--I cannot imagine living life knowing that I could harm someone by just touching them. I think it would be interesting though to see what the hideout she's staying at is like & to train using the powers Juliette possesses.

6) Wanderer (The Host)--Wanderer is so brave and so selfless. It seems as though everything she does is for the greater good and for the humans she has come to love. I would love to spend a day as her & experience life as a soul. It would also be very interesting to see what the caves they all live in look like.

7) Clary Fray (The Mortal Instruments)--I love Clary. I found so many similarities between her and myself. I would love to live a day in her life. I think it would be so fun! Plus, who wouldn't want to make out with Jace?

8) Trella Sanchia (Inside Out)--Trella's life in both Inside Out & Outside In is quite exciting. It would be very cool to climb through the pipes the way she does. It would be very interesting to see the cube that she and everyone else lives in. Her world is very interesting!

9) Melanie Stryder  (The Host)--If it weren't for Melanie, Wanderer never would have gone to find Jamie & Jared, and if she hadn't then who knows what would have happened to all those humans living in those undercover caves. They could have all been caught. Anyways, I would like to live a day as Melanie after Wanderer becomes separate from her body.

10) Isabelle Lightwood (The Mortal Instruments)--I love kick-butt female characters who know how to take care of themselves & save the day when needed. Isabelle is definitely one of those characters. Not only that, but she's down right hilarious, too!
