Warning: There are spoilers in this post!

This week's book or series:

                        The Hunger Games
                       By: Suzanne Collins

My favorite couple from The Hunger Games:
Peeta & Katniss

I love Peeta and Katniss together. I wanted them to get together since the very beginning of the first book. Opposites attract. They are so different from each other, yet so perfect for each other. They both experienced two games of the Hunger Games. They were both willing to die for the other multiple times during both games. Not many people who experience the Hunger Games are willing to die for another person in it. They were truly the only two people each trusted. Katniss only completely trusted Peeta and Peeta only completely trusted Katniss. I really love the two of them together. They are definitely one of my favorite fictional couples ever.

What's your favorite ship from The Hunger Games? Comment below, or if you have a blog, post your link!

Day 27: The Scene in Mockingjay You're Most Looking Forward To

Day 27 of the 30 Day Challenge: The scene in Mockingjay you're most looking forward to

Warning: There is a huge Mockingjay spoiler in this tiny post!

As you may recall from Day 3 of the Challenge, I mentioned my favorite part of the series being literally the last part of the series when Katniss & Peeta finally get together! So, of course, this is the part I'm most looking forward to seeing in Mockingjay. Hopefully, it will be better than the book and will actually have a full scene of the two of them together, but who knows? We will just have to wait and see what happens.

Day 26

Day 26: The scene in Catching Fire you're most looking forward to

Warning: There is a huge Catching Fire spoiler in this small post!

I'm definitely looking forward to a lot of different parts of Catching Fire. If I must be specific though and pick one, I'd choose the part in which Peeta and Katniss are both awake and keeping guard during the 75th annual Hunger Games while at the beach. During that part, Peeta tries to convince Katniss that she should let him die so she can live because she has a family (and Gale) who care about her back in District 12 while he has nobody. Technically, he had his family, but they didn't love him the way Katniss's family (and Gale) love her. This is the part when Katniss realizes that she would miss Peeta and would be a completely miserable without him. She tells him this, but he keeps trying to talk her out of it, and to live. He even mentions indirectly that he would die so Katniss can marry Gale. Katniss won't let Peeta talk her into it, and she ends up kissing him. Then, Katniss gets the "feeling" within her when she kisses him (a feeling she never got when kissing Gale), a feeling that makes her hungry for more of his kisses. It's one of the parts in the series when you know that she loves him, but she just doesn't know it yet. I also like how in the morning she can barely look Peeta in the eye because of all the kissing they did the night before. haha.

Oh goodness. I cannot wait to see that scene. So romantic. Ahhh... Is it November 2013 yet? Okay, I don't want time to rush away, but I'm still looking forward to this part.

Day 10 of the 30 Day Hunger Games Challenge! The Biggest Surprise

Wow guys, I'm truly surprised by the amount of pageviews I have gotten in the past 24 hours! You guys are amazing! Please spread the news and tell all your book loving friends about my blog. I promise my blog is not entirely Hunger Games related. I've just been in mega Hunger Games mode!

Anyways....
Day 10! The Biggest Surprise

Spoiler from the first book! But honestly, if you haven't read the books yet, you need to right now!!

"Claudius Templesmith's voice booms down from overhead, congratulating the six of us who remain. But he is not inviting us to a feast. He's saying something very confusing. There's been a rule change in the Games. A rule change! That in itself is mind bending since we don't really have any rules to speak of except don't step off your circle for sixty seconds and the unspoken rule about not eating one another. Under the new rule, both tributes from the same district will be declared winners if they are the last two alive. Claudius pauses, as if he knows we're not getting it, and repeats the change again.
The news sinks in. Two tributes can win this year. If they're from the same district. Both can live. Both of us can live.
Before I can stop myself, I call out Peeta's name."
-The Hunger Games, page 244

That was definitely the biggest surprise for me in the entire series. I definitely did not see that coming. I had a gut feeling that Katniss was going to end up having to kill Peeta in the end. But I'm so relieved and glad that feeling was wrong. You guys don't know how truly happy I was when the rule change was made. I was so glad knowing that Peeta might end up surviving after all and that Katniss probably wasn't going to kill him. The last third of the book was my favorite part. Wow, I really want to reread it, but I have no time to do so.
That's pretty much it for now.

Day 6 of The Hunger Games 30 Day Challenge: Least Favorite Part of the Series

Day 6: Least favorite part of the series

There are MAJOR spoilers in this post from Mockingjay!!!!

"Peeta's awake already, sitting on the side of the bed, looking bewildered as a trio of doctor's reassure him, flash lights in his eyes, check his pulse. I'm disappointed that mine was not the first face he saw when he woke, but he sees it now. His features register disbelief and something more intense that I can't quite place. Desire? Desperation? Surely both, for he sweeps the doctors aside, leaps to his feet, and moves toward me. I run to meet him, my arms extended to embrace him. His hands are reaching for me, too, to caress my face, I think.

My lips are just forming his name when his fingers lock around my throat."
-Mockingjay, pp 176-177

No, no, no, no, no!! I hated that part! HATED it! I actually felt like crying while typing this excerpt. I still remember how happy I was knowing that they had rescued Peeta to only be completely devastated to find out that he had been "hijacked".

Actually, this is more along the lines of my least favorite concept of the series. I not only hated the part when he tried to choke Katniss, but all of the parts when Peeta was not himself. I especially hated the parts when Katniss considered killing him and when Peeta wanted Katniss to kill him. It broke my heart. I know it made Katniss not take Peeta so much for granted anymore and to appreciate him more but still, Suzanne Collins did not have to have that in the book. Ugh. It's so frustrating!! I was happy with the ending of the book though, but it could have been a lot better. Ugh!

Day 2 of Hunger Games 30 Day Challenge: Favorite Character

It's Day 2 of the Hunger Games 30 Day Challenge!
# 2 Favorite Character
          Peeta Mellark of course!
I have adored Peeta ever since the train scene on the way to the Capitol in the first book. He is so kind, so sweet, and very compassionate. He's the perfect guy! I love him.  Josh Hutcherson portrayed him very well. I was quite pleased with his performance.
