Best Book of September 2013

Many thanks to YA Highway for the idea to post the best book that I read each month.  Last year upon deciding to stop participating it Road Trip Wednesday, I decided that I still wanted to post the best book that I read each month.

Please note: The best book of the month will not be a book that I re-read. Those books are already my favorites, so they will not be in the running for the best book of the month. All books considered will be books I have read for the first time.

Best Book of September 2013

Unearthly was the best book that I read in September 2013. It was a great book. It was fantastically written, well plotted, and the romance was amazing. I loved all the plot twists, especially those involving the romance. It was totally unexpected. I could actually go on complete rants about the romance in this series. The entire series was great, but Unearthly was my favorite. I really want to re-read it now! I probably will some day.

Best Book of August 2013

Many thanks to YA Highway for the idea to post the best book that I read each month.  Last year upon deciding to stop participating it Road Trip Wednesday, I decided that I still wanted to post the best book that I read each month.

Best Book of August 2013

When it comes to deciding the best book of August, I am going to have to name A Million Suns & Shades of Earth. Normally, when I read a book series, I have a favorite, but I honestly cannot pick a favorite when it comes to the Across The Universe trilogy. That is why I have both A Million Suns & Shades of Earth listed here (I read Across the Universe in July). I absolutely love Elder and Amy. They are both very lovable characters. I also love how this series combines science fiction, romance, and mystery all into one epic story. In it Beth Revis was able to create a world and plot that is so unique and completely fascinating. This entire series is downright amazing and I highly recommend it to all YA fans especially if those who like science fiction and/or mystery.

Best Book of the Month--July 2013

I haven't done a Best Book of the Month Feature since August 2012, but I decided to do it again!

Many thanks to YA Highway for the idea to post the best book that I read each month.  Last year upon deciding to stop participating it Road Trip Wednesday, I decided that I still wanted to post the best book that I read each month.

Best Book of July 2013

This is definitely a hard month to start doing this again! I read many wonderful books in July so it is quite a challenge picking my favorite that I have read, but The Fault In Our Stars by John Green triumphs above all the others. I am so glad that I took a chance on reading this book. I highly recommend everyone to read this someday in their lifetime. I seriously wouldn't doubt it if this book will be (if it's not already) on schools' required reading list. However, I was never a big fan of required reading so I hope people read this book because they want to, not because they have to.

This book was the first book to actually make me cry, really cry. Not a few tears that never spill down my checks, but full out sob, and not just once, but multiple times. But this book is so worth it. I actually ended up buying it for my nook a few weeks after I read it because it was on sale at Barnes & Noble for only $3.99. I definitely plan on re-reading it before (or maybe after) I see the movie, which, of course, I'm super excited about!!

Best Book of August 2012

Many thanks to YA Highway for the idea to post the best book that I read each month.  Now that I no longer participate in Road Trip Wednesday, I decided that I still want to post the best books that I read each month. With that said here is the best book that I have read in August:

Clockwork Prince

I absolutely loved this book! It was by far my favorite book that I read in August 2012. It was a lot better than Clockwork Angel. I really cannot wait to read the sequel Clockwork Princess. I am eager to see who Tessa ends up with in the end! I just hope she doesn't break Jem's heart if she ends up with Will.

Best Book of July 2012

Many thanks to YA Highway for the idea to post the best book that I read each month. I participated in their Road Trip Wednesday in May & June where I discussed the best books that I read during those months. Now that I no longer participate in Road Trip Wednesday, I decided that I still want to post the best books that I read each month. With that said here is the best book that I have read in July:

City of Glass

City of Glass was the best book I read in July 2012, with City of Bones being the second best book. Actually I loved all the Mortal Instruments books. I spent the entire month reading them. They are the only books that I started and finished in July. (There is another book that I started, but won't finish for a few more days.) Therefore I officially declare July 2012 The Mortal Instruments Month for me. haha They were all so incredibly written by Cassandra Clare. They are so original and unique. I truly love all of the characters (besides the antagonists of course). I really cannot wait for the sixth and final book, City of Heavenly Fire.

The reason why I chose City of Glass as my favorite is because it was the most suspenseful of the entire series. I was on the edge of my seat while reading it. It made my stomach hurt because I grew to care deeply about the fate of my favorite characters. I also liked the ending of this book the best out of all of them. I won't go into further details for those who have yet to read them. But if you haven't read them, you need to! They are brillant! I highly recommend them!!

Road Trip Wednesday--June 27, 2012

Road Trip Wednesday is a blog hop hosted the awesome people over at  YA Highway. Each Wednesday they ask a writing or reading related question that we can think about & discuss. It's fun! If you have a blog, feel free to participate. If not, post your answer in the comments!

This week's discussion topic is:

What was the best book you read in June?

The Host was by far the best book I read in June. When I read it, I literally could not put it down. I spent an entire weekend doing  nothing but reading. It was so worth it because it was amazing! The storyline is so original and unique, and the love situation is the most interesting love situation I have ever read in a story. I also loved the message that not all of humanity is bad, there is still some good left in the world. I could go on and on about this book and how incredible it is for a long time. I would recommend it to anyone. Oh, and be sure to check out my review here.

So, without posting any spoilers, what was the best book you read in June?

Road Trip Wednesday--June 6, 2012

Road Trip Wednesday is a blog hop hosted the awesome people over at  YA Highway. Each Wednesday they ask a writing or reading related question that we can think about & discuss. It's very similar to Musing Mondays. But hey, I like talking about reading & writing! It's fun! If you have a blog, feel free to participate. If not, post your answer in the comments!

This week's discussion topic is:

What was the best book you read in May?

I put my head down in shame when I say this, but I only read one book in May. I am normally very busy during the school year & don't have much time to read. With that said though, the book I read, Insurgent, would have topped any other book that I would have read in May. Insurgent was phenomenal! I loved it. I highly recommend it to, well, everyone! You need to read it if you haven't read it yet. Read my review of it here.

So, without posting any spoilers, what was the best book you read in May?
