August 2012 Reader of the Month

It's time to announce the August Reader of the Month! My good friend Patrick!  

Tell us a little about yourself.

I guess I'm your typical college student. I'm a pretty quiet person, but I can be pretty outgoing too. It depends on the situation I'm in.

What book are you currently reading?

I am currently reading The Lost Hero, book one of The Heros of Olympus series by Rick Riordan.

Do you like it?

I think it's pretty good so far. Although, I keep getting distracted lately.


What book do you plan on reading next?

Not sure yet. A lot of times the decision is random for me. If the Lost Hero is any good, I will probably pick up the next book in that series.

How many books have you read so far this summer?
I have read eight books so far this summer. This is actually the first time I'm keeping track since I was 11 or 12. Blame it on Good Reads!

Of all the books you have read so far this summer, which is your favorite?
My favorite book I have read this summer is The Scorch Trials, book 2 of the Maze Runner trilogy. I couldn't put it down. Just an all-around amazing book.

If you could go to any fictional world, where would it be?
This is a tough one. There are so many fictional worlds I would want to go to! I think for me it would be a toss up between Hogwarts and Middle Earth. Both places are very ancient and hold a lot of mysteries & secrets which fascinate me to no end.

Do you have a favorite spot where you just like to sit and read?
My favorite spot to read in the world is at my grandparent's house in the Catskills region of upstate New York. I love to read there because it is so quiet and peaceful there. Not to mention the landscape is so beautiful. But since I'm not there most of the time, I would say my room is my favorite place to unwind with a good book. It's small but cozy.

What do you like to do when you're not reading?

I like to swim, work out, surf the net, play computer games, spend time with family & friends, and watch DVDs. I am currently addicted to Lost season one, which is why I've been distracted from reading.

What is your favorite part of Emily Hearts Books?
I think my favorite part of Emily Hearts Books would have to be the overall creativity of it. I like the reviews especially. They are clear & concise and really spell out the positives & negatives of the book being reviewed.
