Road Trip Wednesday is a blog hop hosted the awesome people over at YA Highway. Each Wednesday they ask a writing or reading related question that we can think about & discuss. It's fun! If you have a blog, feel free to participate. If not, post your answer in the comments!
This week's discussion topic is:
What was the best book you read in June?
The Host was by far the best book I read in June. When I read it, I literally could not put it down. I spent an entire weekend doing nothing but reading. It was so worth it because it was amazing! The storyline is so original and unique, and the love situation is the most interesting love situation I have ever read in a story. I also loved the message that not all of humanity is bad, there is still some good left in the world. I could go on and on about this book and how incredible it is for a long time. I would recommend it to anyone. Oh, and be sure to check out my review here.
So, without posting any spoilers, what was the best book you read in June?
I enjoyed The Host too, I thought it was creative though there was a 'thing' at the end that was bizarre...but hey, whatever!
ReplyDeleteThe best book I read in June was Sovereign Hope by Frankie Rose followed closely by Obsidian and Easy. So many good books this month!

Hmm...I'll have to look to see what that book is about. And yes, so many good books this month! :)
DeleteI enjoyed THE HOST so much more than TWILIGHT, and I kind of wish Stephenie Meyer would write more in that world.
ReplyDeleteI liked it more than Twilight, too!! A lot more, actually. I heard that she probably will write a sequel. I actually saw an interview that she did with MTV saying that the next thing she will write will be the sequel. :)
DeleteI was too traumatize after Twilight (and New Moon and Eclipse...) to pick up anything else by Stephenie Meyer. But maybe I should pick up The Host :)
ReplyDeleteThe Scorpio Races, Shadow and Bone, and Before I Fall were my three picks for June!
Do not let the Twilight books stop you from reading The Host! The Host is 100% better!! I am not that big of a Twilight fan, but I absolutely LOVED The Host.
DeleteAnd yes, I saw on your blog & commented :)
I read this back when it first came out. I hated how long it took for the story to get going, but then enjoyed it a lot more than I expected.
ReplyDeleteYes, it is a bit slow moving at first. My sister and friend never got very far into it because of how slow it is. It definitely is worth it, though!
DeleteI too was put off by the Twilight books--anything she writes will always be colored by that series, for good or ill. Might get this one from the library and give it a try.
ReplyDeleteIt's definitely worth it. It's a million times better than Twilight. Don't let Twilight stop you from reading it!!
