Top Ten Tuesday--May 29, 2012

Top 10 Tuesday (#1)

I will now be participating in Top 10 Tuesday (almost) every Tuesday. Top 10 Tuesday is a blog hop hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. They post a Top 10 topic & other blogs participate & link their blog post to their website. It is a way to get to know your follow bloggers & get more traffic on your own blog! If you have a book blog, you can definitely participate! If not, you can still post your answers below in the comments!

This week's Top 10 Topic is:

Top 10 Books Written In The Past 10 Years That I Hope Are Still Being Read In 30 Years

This is a hard one! I've only become a massive reader in the past 12 months, so I haven't read as much as I would like to admit. I definitely have read books before I became an obsessive reader, like Harry Potter & The Clique Series though. With that said, I'm only going to list 5 books that I hope are still being read 30 years from now.

Here is my list:

1. Harry Potter Series
I've always thought that the Harry Potter books would one day become classics. If they don't already (and I'm sure some do), schools will one day require their students to read two or three of them. The Harry Potter series is the type of series you don't see more than once in a lifetime. Harry Potter is truly original and I don't think it is going anywhere anytime soon even though the books and movies are now done. If I ever have kids, I'm definitely going to make them read at least the first book.

2. The Hunger Games
Nobody should be two surprised by this. I love The Hunger Games. I'm not listing them just because they are extremely popular or because I love them so much, I'm listing them because I truly believe that 30 years from now, people will still be reading them. They hold an important message about society, and since they take place in the future, they won't really be outdated 30 years from now.

3. Divergent
Like The Hunger Games, I believe that the Divergent books have a very important message to them. Also, like The Hunger Games, they cannot become outdated ever because they take place in the future. Besides that, the books are amazing & I highly recommend them.

4. Delirium
I am repeating myself over and over again for each book, but Delirium has an important message to it that I believe future generations should know about. The whole concept of a country without love is very mind boggling, and an interesting topic to talk about. Not only that, but this book is so beautifully written, I would be surprised if this book isn't still read 30 years from now.

5. The Maze Runner

I seriously am being repetitive, but I mean it every time. This book is so original and so unique. I also don't think it will be outdated either. By the way, I haven't read the last two books yet, so SHHH! don't write about them in the comments, PLEASE!!

Site Updates

Hey Everyone!
I am very excited that summer is almost here! I already have two books that I want to read this summer & I also bought a book that I already read. Anybody want to guess?  Divergent! I've read Divergent twice already, but I will definitely re-read it again before the third book of the series comes out & I'll probably reread it again after that when I re-read the entire trilogy. Boy, there are so many books that I want to read & re-read, it's not even funny! It's so hard trying to decide if I should read something new or re-read something that I love. UGH! It's so frustrating.

Anyways, on to the site updates!!

Labels
Most of the blog posts that I have written are now categorized into different labels. I went through each of my blog posts and decided what labels to use for them. This is a fun & easy way to see the different blog posts that I have written under each category. If you click one of the labels, it will show you all the posts that have that label. For instance, if you click the "Divergent" label, it will show you all the posts I have written about Divergent. Kind of cool, right? The labels for each post can be seen at the bottom of the post. (You can see that this post has 2 labels: "News Update" & "Divergent"). You can also see all the labels that I have used in the middle of the left sidebar.

Navigation Bar
Another feature that I have added to this website is a navigation bar which is located right below the title of the blog. You can now go to different "pages" by clicking on the tabs. They are "Home" "About" "Reviews" & "Other Blogs". Click each tab for more information!

Stay tuned for an exciting new monthly segment!

Last Day of the 30 Day Challenge

YAY! Today is the last day of the 30 Day Challenge! To be honest, I'm kind of glad that it's over now. I was starting to get tired of doing it. It was fun to do, though!

Day 30:  Which Villian do you love to hate?

I don't "love" hating any of the characters in this trilogy. It's not like there's a bad character that's secretly good or has some good qualities in him or her, like there is in other series. However, if I had to pick, I'd pick:

Cato!
Plus, Alexander Ludwig did a great job portraying him!!

Day 28: Favorite Tribute from 75th Hunger Games (besides Katniss & Peeta)

Besides, Katniss & Peeta, I'd say that my favorite tribute from the 75th Annual Hunger Games is Finnick. I really like Finnick. He's very funny & quirky. I really liked how he saved Peeta during the Games. I know the reasons why he did so, but still. I also liked this part a lot:

"'Finnick?' I say. 'Maybe some pants?'
He looks down at his legs as if noticing his outfit for the first time. Then he whips off his gown, leaving him in just his underwear. 'Why? Do you find this'---he strikes a ridiculously provocative pose---'distracting?'
I can't help laughing because it's funny, and it's extra funny because it makes Boggs look so uncomfortable, and I'm happy because Finnick actually sounds like the guy I met at the Quarter Quell."
-Mockingjay page 79

Quite hilarious! Plus, he helped Katniss a lot while she was struggling greatly during Mockingjay. Those parts made the book better for me.

Day 28

Day 28: Favorite Tribute from 74th Hunger Games (Besides Katniss & Peeta)

Spoilers are in this post!

Besides Peeta & Katniss, I'll say:
Source
Rue!
I adored little Rue. She's so sweet & innocent. She definitely should not have been in the Games. She was 12  years old! None of the children should have been in the Games but throwing a little 12 year old in the Games is just horrible. It kind of makes me wonder though, if Katniss was unable to volunteer as Tribute or if Katniss was too old to volunteer, would Prim & Rue have gotten along? I think so. I think Prim and Rue would have been good friends.

This is random but, I also wonder would Peeta have tried to protect Prim the way he protected Katniss? I definitely think so. He knew how important Prim was to Katniss. The sad thing is though, Peeta would have died if Katniss didn't volunteer. Wow, I think I just sparked an interesting topic to talk about later in this blog. Keep an eye out!

Quick Divergent Survey

I know I already did a similar Divergent survey but I saw this survey on Tumblr and just had to do it! Read my other one for more extensive answers to similar questions! By the way, some of my answers may be slightly different from my first survey. My opinions change over time.

WARNING: This Questionnaire has spoilers from both of the Divergent books!!! So stop reading if you do not want to be spoiled!

  2. Your favourite character? Tobias

  4. Your least favourite shipping? Tris & Peter
  5. Dreamcast for Tris? An unknown with talent
  6. Dreamcast for Tobias?  An unknown with talent
  7. Your favourite friendship? Christina & Tris
  8. Your favourite quote? I liked "You die, I die too." said by Tobias to Tris. I was like aww..but of course, we find out that he wasn't there on a suicide mission so that quote lost it's "aww" factor. I like other quotes but I don't have a favorite right now.
  9. Least favourite character? Eric
  10. Character who died that you wished didn’t? Will
  11. Character you wish died? Well, Eric is already dead
  12. Favourite moment in Divergent? When Tris & Four finally kiss!

Day 27: The Scene in Mockingjay You're Most Looking Forward To

Day 27 of the 30 Day Challenge: The scene in Mockingjay you're most looking forward to

Warning: There is a huge Mockingjay spoiler in this tiny post!

As you may recall from Day 3 of the Challenge, I mentioned my favorite part of the series being literally the last part of the series when Katniss & Peeta finally get together! So, of course, this is the part I'm most looking forward to seeing in Mockingjay. Hopefully, it will be better than the book and will actually have a full scene of the two of them together, but who knows? We will just have to wait and see what happens.

Day 26

Day 26: The scene in Catching Fire you're most looking forward to

Warning: There is a huge Catching Fire spoiler in this small post!

I'm definitely looking forward to a lot of different parts of Catching Fire. If I must be specific though and pick one, I'd choose the part in which Peeta and Katniss are both awake and keeping guard during the 75th annual Hunger Games while at the beach. During that part, Peeta tries to convince Katniss that she should let him die so she can live because she has a family (and Gale) who care about her back in District 12 while he has nobody. Technically, he had his family, but they didn't love him the way Katniss's family (and Gale) love her. This is the part when Katniss realizes that she would miss Peeta and would be a completely miserable without him. She tells him this, but he keeps trying to talk her out of it, and to live. He even mentions indirectly that he would die so Katniss can marry Gale. Katniss won't let Peeta talk her into it, and she ends up kissing him. Then, Katniss gets the "feeling" within her when she kisses him (a feeling she never got when kissing Gale), a feeling that makes her hungry for more of his kisses. It's one of the parts in the series when you know that she loves him, but she just doesn't know it yet. I also like how in the morning she can barely look Peeta in the eye because of all the kissing they did the night before. haha.

Oh goodness. I cannot wait to see that scene. So romantic. Ahhh... Is it November 2013 yet? Okay, I don't want time to rush away, but I'm still looking forward to this part.

Day 25 of the 30 Day HG Challenge

Favorite Capitol Citizen
This one's easy!!

Source
Cinna of course!
I almost listed him as my favorite adult character & he definitely is one of them. I also should have mentioned him as one of my favorite "minor" characters. He plays such an essential role. He is the only person from the Capitol who understands what Katniss is going through. He is also the only Capitol citizen who knows what the Capitol is doing is incredibly wrong. I also like how he ends up being Katniss's friend. He is such a likable character! Lenny Kravitz did an excellent job portraying him!

Fictional Couples

As some of you may or may not know, I love romance! Romance is probably my favorite element of a good book. However, in some books, the romance doesn't work (at least not for me), but that's a different story. In this post I will list fictional couples that I prefer. Some I obviously like more than others (the ones in red are the ones that I LOVE, those in bold but aren't red are ones I like but don't love obsessively, & the ones in that aren't either are the ones that I'm okay with--if they end up together, great! If not, who cares?).  I'm also not going to discuss whether or not these couples actually end up together or not (some don't). In some cases (those of which have more sequels coming out) nobody knows if these couples will end up together in the end.

Divergent
Tobias & Tris

Harry Potter
Ron & Hermione
Harry & Cho OR Harry & Luna
Luna & Neville

The Hunger Games
Katniss & Peeta
Gale & Madge (kind of)
Finnick & Annie

Delirium
Alex & Lena

The Insider Series
Riley & Trella

Scorpio Races
Sean & Puck

Matched
Cassia & Ky OR Cassia & Xander

These are the only ones I can think of at the moment. I will post another list at the end of the summer after I read more books.

Day 24: Favorite Minor Character

 Day 24: Favorite Minor Character

(As usual, there are spoilers in this post.)

I seem to be saying this a lot, but this is a difficult one. I wouldn't say that I have a favorite "minor" character. I have a few favorites:

Source
Prim is definitely a favorite "minor" character of mine. I use the term "minor" loosely considering how important of a character she is. If it weren't for Prim, Katniss never would have participated in the Hunger Games in the first place!

I really like how Prim grows and matures in both Catching Fire & Mockingjay. She's seemed so mature for a 13 year old.

Source
As I said a few days ago, I really like Haymitch. He is definitely one of my favorite "minor" characters as well. Again, I use the term loosely espeically since he is so important to the story. I guess most of the characters are crucial to the story. The story wouldn't be the way it is without most of the characters there.

And lastly, Finnick. Unfortunately Finnick hasn't been cast yet (or if he has, it hasn't been announced publicly yet) so I don't have any photos to post, but I really do like Finnick a lot. I like both his serious and humorous side.

Insurgent is #1

Literally.

Insurgent is #1 on the NYT Best Seller's List under chapter books!! This is quite exciting! I was so happy when I found out. If I'm this happy that a book I absolutely love is on the list imagine how happy I would be if my own book was on the list. I would probably start crying. It is unlikely that anything I ever write will be on the list, but it's fun to imagine Veronica Roth's excitement!

Her book, Divergent (the first book in the series) is also #1 under paperbacks! It's been on the list now for ten weeks!!

Congratulations, Veronica! Both Insurgent & Divergent were incredible! I absolutely loved them!! I cannot wait to reread Insurgent this summer!

Update: Veronica Roth thanks fans for their support in this video! I love how she looks so dauntless!

Day 23: Favorite Jennifer Lawrence Dress

Today is Day 23 of the 30 Day Hunger Games Challenge!
Favorite Jennifer Lawrence Dress That She Wore While Promoting The Hunger Games

I would say that my favorite dress that Jen has worn while promoting HG is the outfit she wore in NYC both to the premiere & to the book signing at Barnes and Noble. I like it because although it's simple, it looks stunning on her & that color looks great on her as well. I can also see myself wearing a similar dress. It's definitely my style for sure (except for the V neck)!

Day 22: Favorite Katniss Hairstyle in the Movie

Day 22: Favorite Katniss Hairstyle in the Movie

(Some spoilers from the first book & movie are mentioned in this post)

From the moment I first saw the trailer, I absolutely loved how Katniss's hair looked when she wore it down. It looked beautiful. I really wish my hair looked that stunning. Here's the part of the trailer that I'm referring to:
Source
She also wore her hair down at the end when she and Peeta are named Victors of the 74th Annual Hunger Games. See below:
Source
I thought she looked prettiest during that part. Of course, she wasn't dressing the way she would in real life but still I thought she looked gorgeous.

She also had her hair down at the very end during the train ride:
Source
Plus, Peeta looks totally gorgeous as well ;)
Thanks for reading!

Day 21: Favorite Adult Character

Today is Day 21 of the 30 Day Hunger Games Challenge!

(Some spoilers from the first book & movie are mentioned in this post)
Favorite Adult Character:

Haymitch!

Source

Source
I really like Haymitch, especially in the movie! He is absolutely hilarious! I enjoyed the scene in the film where he convinces Seneca to change the rules because the audience will be interested in their young love. I also liked the scene after Katniss shoots the arrow into the pig and Effie is mad at her but Haymitch comes to her defense saying that the gamemakers couldn't possibly make things any worse for her or Peeta.

Days 19 & 20 of the Hunger Games 30 Day Challenge

Hey, everyone! I decided to combine Days 19 & 20 of the Hunger Games 30 Day Challenge which are:

Day 19: Favorite scene in the movie
Day 20: Least favorite scene in the movie

I combined the two of them because they both have the same answer: I don't have an answer! I loved the movie, but I couldn't possibly pick one part that stood out to me the most and I definitely could not pick out a scene that I hated the most because I loved every minute of it, from beginning to end. Sorry, my answer is quite boring, but hey, what can I do?

Also, you may or may not know it, but today is Katniss's birthday! So without further ado:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, KATNISS!!!
Source

Katniss is by far one of my favorite characters in the series and of all time. She is such a strong, independent woman who can take care of not only herself, but her friends and family as well. She is definitely a role model for women of all ages. I am very grateful that books these days have more and more female characters like her.

Sorry for the delay, everyone!

Day 18: Favorite actor/actress from the series

This is by far the toughest one yet. Wow. I love both Jennifer Lawrence & Josh Hutcherson! Don't make me decide!! I really can't! They are both two extremely talented actors with an awesome sense of humor!

Here are some pics of my favorite Hunger Games Actors!

Fun Divergent Questionnaire

Hey, everyone! As some of you may know, I posted a Hunger Games Questionnaire back in March. Since I'm in Divergent mode after reading Insurgent I have decided to create a fun Divergent Questionnaire. Feel free to post your own answers!

Before I start I will tell you guys that I will continue my Hunger Games 30 Day Challenge soon--probably later this week.

WARNING: This Questionnaire has huge spoilers from both of the Divergent books!!! So stop reading if you do not want to be spoiled!

1. How did you start reading the series?
My sister. I remember the day she told me about the first book back in December. She said that her book club at her school was going to read a book that her friends claimed was similar to the Hunger Games. I thought it would be the book that I had just finished which was The Scorpio Races by Maggie Stiefvater. I asked her and she told me that it wasn't The Scorpio Races, that it was called Divergent. She also told me that her friends claimed that it was better than The Hunger Games. I remember thinking "Better than The Hunger Games? That's unlikely." I then went on Amazon and looked up information about the book. It seemed confusing at first with all the factions and everything (Actually, to be honest, the story of The Hunger Games sounded confusing at first too.). I showed my sister the website and she seemed immediately interested. I knew that I myself would eventually read it too, but not right away.

Later, after my sister read it, she kept telling me that I should read it and that I would like it. She even told me that she liked it better than the Hunger Games. I ended up requesting it and loving it! Thanks to my sister for telling me about it! I cannot imagine not having read these awesome books!!

2. Who is your favorite character in the series?
Tobias/Four. I absolutely love him. He is so brave and selfless. I like how he isn't perfect. I like how he is portrayed as being imperfect and human. He is obviously flawed, but that's realistic. I also like the reasoning behind him liking Tris. He doesn't like her because she's attractive, he likes her because of her qualities especially her strength. He seems to see her strength when she doesn't. It also makes me happy how Tris doesn't let having a boyfriend define her just like Katniss doesn't let having a boyfriend define her either. Tris always does what she believes is right and I like how she even took a risk in what could have ended her relationship with Tobias.

3. Least favorite character?
Living--Evelyn-- I don't know why, but I don't trust her, just like Tris doesn't either. We'll see what happens in book 3.
Dead--Eric--I hated Eric. I was very eager for Tris to kill him. I was disappointed when he didn't die after Tris stabbed him, but I'm glad that Tobias ended up killing him in the end.

4.Which character do you love to hate?
Peter. In Divergent I didn't love hating him, I just hated him, but now after Insurgent I do. I typically somewhat like some bad guys when I start to realize the good in them. Peter obviously is a messed up guy, but there is some good in him deep down. He's also quite hilarious in some scenes at the end of Insurgent.

 5. Which book is your favorite (so far)?
Insurgent, definitely. That's good because sometimes sequels aren't as good as the first books, but Insurgent is definitely better than Divergent. I look forward to reading it again this summer. Let's just hope that book 3 is even better!

 6. How do you feel about it being called the next Hunger Games?
I have no problems with this. I definitely do believe that Divergent is the next Hunger Games. Of course, there are a lot of differences between the two series, but I do feel that both series are extremely popular and they are both in the dystopian genre. Not only that, but they both have strong female characters in them. I love both Katniss and Tris. I have a good feeling that when the Divergent movie comes out, everyone will know about it and that it will become even more popular than it already is. That's exactly what happened when the Hunger Games movie came out. Divergent will be a hit. I know it.

7. What do you think will happen in book 3?
This is hard to predict especially considering that Veronica Roth does not even know how it will end. There are certain things that I would like to happen, but who knows? I have a few predictions, but not much. I don't really know what the world is like outside of Chicago. It's interesting to think about though.

8. What would you like to happen in book 3?
Obviously, I want there to a realistic ending that is somewhat happy. I want Tobias and Tris to end up still together in the end with one or two children (if there is an epilogue that is). I would also like Uriah and Christina to survive to the end but that's unlikely considering how almost all of Tris's friends have died in either Divergent or Insurgent. I kind of wonder if Tris will make friends with people who are non-Chicagoans. More than likely. Not sure. I would also like Caleb to end up good in the end if he survives. It would also be cool if Tris meets more of her relatives like whoever Edith Prior is and her spouse and her children, etc. I think it will be interesting to see where Tris ends up living in the end. Will she live in Chicago in a factionless society? Or somewhere else outside of Chicago? I don't really care.

9.What do you think book 3 will be called?
Not a clue. Maybe Convergent or Emergent. Cannot wait to find out. Hopefully Veronica Roth will announce it this summer or this fall. Apparently it will not be called Detergent.

10. Which faction are you? Your family? Friends?
I would be in Amity. I really like Amity. Plus, I really like wearing skirts and dresses. Of course, I fight and have arguments with people, but I try to avoid it especially with people I don't know. When I do fight though, it's with words, not fists, and definitely not with a weapon. I can see myself being born into Erudite and then selecting Amity when I turned 16. I was born into a family of smart people. Everyone in my family is smart. I think my siblings would have stayed in Erudite when they turned 16 and left when they realized that Jeanine is a horrible, cruel person.

As for my friends, I can see most of them being in Amity with me except for my friend Jeff. I can see him being in Dauntless.

11. What do you think the cover of book 3 will look like? I think it will be red or gray and will have the Abnegation symbol on it because it was their idea to reveal the secret information file to everyone and of course, going out to "save the world" is kind of a selfless thing to do. Whatever it ends up looking like, I am sure it will look great. Cannot wait to see what it will look like!

12. Who do you want to play Tris and the other characters?
I want talented unknowns to be in the movie. Either that or people with experience who aren't famous. Jennifer Lawrence who plays Katniss in The Hunger Games had been in independent films before she was in The Hunger Games, but she wasn't famous prior to being cast as Katniss. People like that should be in Divergent.

13. Which scene is your favorite (so far) in the series?
I don't have a favorite scene. There are a lot of scenes that I enjoyed a lot. I especially like the romance in them. In Divergent, I enjoyed the scene when Tris and Tobias go into Tobias's fear landscape together. I also like the part right after when they finally kissed & got together. I enjoyed all the romance in Divergent, not  just those scenes. In Insurgent, I liked all the romance scenes especially the part when Tris finally tells Tobias that she loves him. That scene was cute.

14. Did you like how Insurgent ended? Yes, I loved it! I talk about it in my Insurgent Post.

I will probably retake parts of this survey next year after book 3 comes out. It will be interesting to compare my answers and to see how my opinions changed!

Thanks for reading!

Insurgent is an Intensive Read

You know how there are sometimes quotes on the covers of books that praise them that are said by book reviewers & other authors? Well, if I was lucky enough to have a quote on the cover of Insurgent it would say "Insurgent is an intensive read." It really is. It was intense. It is a fast paced, "I don't want to put this book down" type of book. In other words, I loved it. It was amazing. Scratch that. Insurgent is more than amazing. Amazing does not even begin to describe how good Insurgent is.

This is not how I normally review books. I will am going to discuss many different things about this book. So heads up, there are spoilers in this post!!

While reading this book I truly felt a lot of emotions. I felt exhilarated, anguish, anger, laughter, and terror to name a few. One moment I was laughing and the next moment my eyes were filling with tears. That's definitely a good thing though.

Things I loved about Insurgent:
1. Tobias--Most girls love him & I'm one of them. I mean come on, he's perfect but not perfect if you know what I mean. He can be a jerk, but that just shows that he is human. He can be romantic and lovey, dovey, but he isn't that way always just like it is in real life. I love that. I also love how his relationship with Tris isn't perfect either which again is realistic. It doesn't make girls who read it expect unrealistic things. I also love his selflessness especially when he risked his life to save Tris from Erudite. Oh my gosh. I also found some of the scenes with him to be hilarious! It's funny to think that I originally didn't like him when I read the first few chapters of Divergent and now he's my favorite character.

2. More Romance--I felt as though Insurgent had more romance in it than Divergent. Divergent  had a lot of romance in it but only near the end (obviously because Tobias & Tris weren't together till later in the story). Insurgent had a ton.

3. No love triangles--As I have said frequently, I hate love triangles. (For more information, click here.) Many stories I read these days have them & I'm forever grateful that the Divergent Trilogy is not one of them.

4. Tobias/Caleb "Fights"-- All (or most of) the fights between Tobias & Caleb were truly hilarious. I was laughing out loud (literally) during those scenes.

5. Moving from Faction to Faction--I really liked this. The story didn't take place in just one faction or one specific setting. I liked that. It changed around a lot. I also enjoyed learning more about Amity, Candor, & the factionless.

6. Christina--I really misjudged her. When I started reading Divergent and Tris is introduced to her, I thought Christina would end up betraying her or something and I was wrong then. I also thought that in Insurgent she would try to seek revenge and try to kill Tobias because Tris killed Will but I was so wrong. Instead, Christina actually forgive Tris and things returned to normal between the two of them. I'm so glad I was wrong. Christina is definitely one of my favorite characters.

7. Lynn--I like Lynn. I really do. I like how she claims that she isn't Tris's friend but she is. Sometimes I like the stubborn characters, like Johanna in Mockingjay. I was sad that she died in the end.

8. Things that happened that you least expect: Peter & Caleb-- First while reading this book, (and before I read it-- I waited 5ish months for this book)  I wanted Peter to get killed. I mean I hated Peter. Then suddenly he saves Tris. I was like...um...why? (He did try to kill her in Divergent, after all.).  I was starting to tell that Peter was a teeny, tiny bit good before he did so, but still!  His motives behind what he did are hilarious!  Also, while reading this book, (and before I read it) I wanted Caleb to live. I liked Caleb. He was Tris's only family left so, of course, I wanted him to live. However, we find out that he is a traitor. He put faction before blood. Crazy.

So now, I feel the same way about both guys. I don't hate Peter anymore but I don't love him. I don't care if he lives or dies in book 3. As for Caleb, I don't hate him either and I don't care if he lives or dies. But if he lives, I hope he ends up good in the end.

Overall, though, I like how I expected Peter & Caleb to behave a certain way and yet they didn't. I really like that. I love when things happen that we least expect. It causes more surprises.

9. The Peace Serum Scene--This part was utterly hilarious! Oh my goodness! I loved how Tris acted so...giddy. Yeah, that's the right word. This scene made me realize how Tris truly is. I never thought of Tris as mean and I still don't, but this scene made me really think about her personality. I can't really describe it.

Tobias's reaction to Tris was hilarious! I love how Tris said something like "I know why you like me! You're not very nice and I'm not either!" haha And then, later on, after the serum wore off, Tobias says the same thing to Tris as a joke. It was so funny!! I really enjoyed this scene.

10. The Truth Serum Scene--I enjoyed this scene as well. I especially liked hearing the truth come out of Tobias. It was really interesting to hear what he had to say. I definitely felt bad for him though. He had to reveal all of his secrets that he kept deep within him and had only revealed to Tris. I didn't like that. I also didn't like how afterwards, everyone kept calling him a coward.

11, The Intense Scenes--I felt as though Insurgent was more intense than Divergent. Don't get me wrong, Divergent was intense, but Insurgent was more so. I felt as though there were more action and suspenseful scenes. There was action in one of the first few chapters after all when the Erudite and the Dauntless Traitors went to the Amity compound to search for Tris, Tobias, Marcus, and all the other Abnegation who were taking refuge there.

12. The Ending--Oh my gosh. I LOVED the ending. After Tris got in trouble for "defending" Jeanine, I thought it was a failed mission, that everything Tris did was for nothing. I thought it would end with Tobias being very angry with Tris and that their relationship was over (at least till the middle of book 3- I was already guessing what page in book 3 they would end up together again). I thought it would overall be a very sad ending to a great book. Then all of a sudden, Tobias sits near Tris and tells her that she was right about the information file that she was looking for and that he was able to convince Caleb to get it for him. I remember being so shocked and very, very happy while reading that part. Tobias and Tris's relationship did NOT end. I thought it would!! Plus, he was able to get the information Tris had been looking for in the first place! When I read the part before that part when Tobias made Caleb go up into Jeanine's lab I thought he was going there to gain access to Jeanine's computer to delete the information. I remember thinking that maybe Caleb will want to give the information to Tobias (unlikely) or that Tobias could get the information or something, but having extreme doubts that that would happen. But I was wrong!! I'm so glad I was wrong!!! :) Then, the very ending was pretty shocking. That everyone in Chicago was placed there for a reason. I don't feel like going into full details, but it was pretty surprising. If you have read the book, you will understand what I'm talking about.

Of course, I enjoyed other parts of the book as well, but I think this is mainly it.

I am very eager to find out what happens next in book 3! I cannot wait to find out what it will be called and what the cover will look like. The first book had the Dauntless symbol on it and the second book had the Amity symbol on it (which is ironic since Veronica Roth claims that she doesn't like Amity very much), so I wonder which faction's symbol will be on the third book's cover. I'm thinking Abnegation's symbol because it was their idea to reveal the secret information file to everyone and of course, going out to "save the world" is kind of a selfless thing to do. I'm not sure what color the cover will be though. Guess we will have to wait and see!!

I definitely plan on rereading Insurgent this summer! Also, I might post more blog posts about this series!

Thanks for reading!
